White Rice & Bread – Bad For Skin?
Posted April 24, 2009on:
So I went to give Sesame at Viva Woman a visit and I came across this post. She came across an article titled, “You Are What You Eat” which covered foods that ages us and foods that keeps us young. I was really intrigued when I saw white rice and white bread on the list.
With it on the list were the obvious chips, fries, coffee, sugary pastries and carbonated drinks as well as red meat and sausages. These are bad for you because bad carbohydrates. Bad carbohydrates causes immediate high rise in blood sugar levels. These bad carbohydrates are usually created by refining grains or other plants into “pure” starches or sugars (i.e., flour, white rice, cornmeal, table sugar and all those other extracted sugars). – EZineArticles
These refined carbohydrates then immediately pass from the stomach to your intestines and cause a high rise in blood sugar. These foods can also cause toxins that result in you getting acne (YUCK). Like Sesame, I’m also asian and white rice is a big part of my daily diet. Now I see this, its like – what am I going to do now? Honestly, I don’t even know if I can switch from white rice to brown rice. There’s just something about brown rice that doesn’t look appealing to me at all. And I don’t even know if I can get away from read meat either. I love me some red meat, lol. I’m going to have to moderate a lot of things, but hey, as long as it keep me healthy.
