Yeah, I’m moving to blogspot now. WordPress isn’t giving me enough options so after thinking long and hard, I’ve decided to give in and move my blog – ONCE AGAIN. This blog will still be up so you all can view my older posts because I’m a lazy ass like that. My new blog will be updated with more looks, tutorials, D.I.Y Beauty, Giveaways and much more. So do update your bookmarks! I apologize for any inconvenience.

Sometimes I get afraid of mascaras since they’re the reason why I don’t have many lashes anymore. I use to have thick lashes and certain mascaras that I’ve used in the past caused my lash loss. So I’m pretty picky now when it comes to mascaras. But I’ve been hearing a lot of people raving about Benefit’s Bad Gal Mascara (US$19), so I decided to give it a shot.

Let’s start with the packaging.

I got the waterproof version. Its pretty slim, which I like since it can easily fit in your purse. I also like how the brush is curved unlike the regular formula. I put it next to my Sonia Kashuk spoolie brush so you can see the difference a bit. The brush makes easier for me to get in the inner corner of my eyes without poking my eye out. Its thicker outside and a little thinner inside.

When applied, it doesn’t weigh my lashes down after a few coats and doesn’t seem to clump like most waterproof mascaras would. I like how it defines, lengthens and separates my lashes as well. I love how it looks natural.

I’m sorry about the redness around my eyes. My allergies were acting up a little bit. Anyway, when wearing mascaras, my eyes tend to get irritated when I wear it all day. I’m happy to say that with this mascara, my eyes weren’t irritated at all. Though at the end of the day, I felt that my lashes were a bit dry. Maybe it might be different if a lash primer was used.

Normally, I wouldn’t use waterproof mascaras mainly because most of the ones I’ve tried always smudged on me. Plus, they’re such a pain to remove. With this mascara, I didn’t experience any smudging at all. I used my Target makeup remover (the Almay brand burned my eyelids – this Target brand worked much better!), and it removed all the mascara off my lashes. I like it and do recommend it to those who are still looking for a good waterproof mascara.

PROS: Lengthens, separates, smudge-proof & can be easily removed
CONS: Lashes can feel dry and stiff at the end of the day

– “That Gal” Brightening Face Primer

Let’s start with skin care first.

I am absolutely in love with these two items. I used the mask for about 3 days, and my pores have significantly gotten smaller! LOVE! I really like the moisturizer too – it absorbs into skin really quick, and you don’t even need that much on your face. I’m going to be writing more about this in my next post.

Sonia Kashuk Highlighting Brush

This is a really good brush, and by looking at the caption I put yes – I do use this for mineral makeup as well. This is because I find that it really evens out the application. For example, sometimes I put too much on my forward and chin, I would swirl this brush around and the synthetic white fibers would take away the excess. Very soft, and great for cream blushes and liquid/cream foundation. Its not flimsy either, which is also good.

Benefit “That Gal”

I’ve always wanted to try this because I really liked the packaging. Plus, I’ve never seen a pink primer (my Bare Escentuals one is clear) before. Actually, after I bought this, I found a similar primer at Target by I think the brand was Pixi (?) – I don’t remember, I have to check back on that.

Benefit “Get Even” & “Erase Paste”

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with Erase Paste – I thought it was a little bigger. I don’t think this was worth 28 dollars, really. Nonetheless, its really creamy and works fairly well. Get Even is very smooth and does not appear chalky.

Now onto my NYX products! 🙂 Here’s the package it came in.

I do appreciate that they take care of their items, because I know my products would be in top condition when it reaches me. I’m from California and I believe NYX is located in L.A., and it took about a week and a few days to arrive.

Okay, now with the brushes. I was a bit disappointed because a lot of the things on their website (including swatches) don’t look the same as they do in person. So I do recommend to anyone who has not tried NYX and want to order, do go look around for swatches before ordering anything. Also, for their eyeshadows, anything that has the name “HOT” before it – watch out, it can be a bit chalky. Anyway, the B23 All Purpose brush was shown to be much shorter and I was planning to use it with the pencil technique. But it wasn’t flat enough for my taste, though it still works. The B15 Smokie brush was too fat and full to be a pencil brush, so I’m going to be using that for blending instead. The B12 crease brush is perfect for my eyes and it fits perfectly into my crease. So I recommend the crease brush.

I use the Sonia Kashuk brush with the cream blush and it works great. I don’t even need a ton – just one dab into that blush and I’m good for both cheeks! The blush highly pigmented so anyone who wants to try out NYX’s cream blushes, do use a light hand and gradually build the color. I really recommend buying “Glow” because it will give you that nice natural rosy flush. I also adore the pen liner – its way better than the L’Oréal one (IMO) and its really rich in color. Great to put in your purse or travel bag.

So, that’s it for this haul! I’m not going to talk about the other things I bought since there’s really not much to say about it. I also ordered some things from Stars Makeup Haven (I bought my palettes from there!) and I was planning to order from E.L.F (this would be my first time puchasing their stuff!). I was interested in their Studio brushes (I’m a brush fanatic – so don’t mind me, haha) and I was looking at some things and I’m not sure what to buy. So any recommendations would be awesome, thanks! ♥

Next post would probably be a haul about the Benefit items I purchased as well as the Merlot moisturizer, so do look out for that! Hope you have a great day and weekend (for those who’s last day of school is today), and take care!
